Welcome to the first digital edition of the
International Product Safety Week 2020
Inspiring plenary sessions, informative workshop and targeted one-on-one meetings promise new insights, new contacts and new opportunities for collaboration.
International cooperation is a must to ensure the safety of products – no matter where they are manufactured and whether they are sold online or via traditional trade channels. That’s why every two years since 2006 the European Commission’s Directorate General for Justice and Consumers brings safety experts from all around the world to an International Product Safety Week.
This year’s event will include sessions on post-COVID-19 preparedness, best practices in product traceability and recalls and a workshop on the fundamentals of product safety organised with UNCTAD. The three-day event will provide an excellent opportunity for discussion among a broad range of stakeholders, including national authorities, international regulators, consumer organisations, industry, standard-makers, test laboratories, academics, lawyers and other product safety experts.
As in past editions, the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organisation (ICPHSO) online symposium will take place in the framework of the International Product Safety Week. This year’s symposium will be held on 27 and 28 October.
